The Drivers Edge

April 18-19, 2009 Driving Event

Harris Hill Road Guidelines & Rules

Driver Requirements:

The first event will be open to any drivers who have completed one or more organized 2 day driving school/event at any race track. This will be our first event at H2R so the event will NOT be open to novice drivers.

Car Requirements:
A) Tech Inspection: all cars must pass a (http://www.thedriversedge.net/tmssif.pdf).

B) Convertible Guidelines: can be found (http://www.thedriversedge.net/droptop.htm)

C) Car Noise Limitations: H2R track rules state the limit is 99dB measured 30 feet behind the car run the car up to 4000 rpm and then a throttle blip just below redline... We realize this is subjective and very hard to determine as a rule of thumb any car with factory exhaust system will pass, no problem. Where issues come in is if you car has a radically modified exhaust system you will not pass. If you feel your car may not pass this limit, we advise you to have your car noise tested by the track management, by appointment with the track (512 692-7190) before the event. Note: during the event track management may operate random noise tests and you may be unable to continue unless your car does pass. Spec Miata Racers have had problems passing noise restrictions.

Parking & Trailer Restrictions:

Parking area is very limited at the Harris Hill Road. Parking on paddock pavement and adjacent gravel area will be for participant’s registered cars only. All others, including trailers and tow vehicles and guests will park on the grass.

It would be best if you didn’t tow in but, if you’re towing a trailer, you will go to a designated unloading area, unload the car and then park your trailer and tow vehicle in the grass. Another option you are welcome to unload your trailer in the grass parking area rather the paved unloading zone. We also strongly recommend that you drop your trailer off on Friday afternoon, the day before the event.

Motor Homes and Racecar Transports:

Sorry, there is not enough room to accommodate these at this time.
